An internationally acclaimed consultant, Jack has consulted for IBM, AT&T, General Motors, Dow, DuPont, the State Department, the IRS, TVA, YMCA, and the National Council of Churches. He holds a doctorate in psychology from Stanford and has taught at Brigham Young, Michigan State, and the University of Colorado, where he also directed the Group Process Laboratory.

No lead trigger: "Everything necessary, similar to cellular reproduction, is present already in the group. A trigger is not necessary.

For example, Jack Gibb formed TORI communities where he did not intervene. He assembled as many as 180 people in a large room. He did nothing else. Most people didn’t even know who he was.

What happened is that the large group broke into smaller, conversation groups. They set tasks. They found results. The groups attacked and handled any problems, which were at hand with no trigger.

Jack Gibb found that a TORI community was as effective in solving the same kinds of problems a led group would solve. The leader didn’t need to trigger anything."

The leadership, as you may have guessed, comes from the TORI group itself!
